Meanings

The Five of Swords is a card of conflict and suggests that you currently find yourself disagreeing with those around you and this has caused a lot of tension between you. You now find yourself feeling isolated as if you've been frozen out by those you have argued with. The Five of Swords warns that, although you may feel as if you are in the right, you're opinions could be hurting others and now they have lost faith in you and your actions. This card asks that you re-evaluate your opinions and decide whether they are that important that you can risk losing those closest to you over. If the answer is no, you must make amends and be careful of what you say in future.

The Five of Swords also suggests that you are on a journey to success but warns that you will soon come up against obstacles that will threaten your journey forward. When these obstacles appear, you must be aggressive in your fight to overcome them. The Five of Swords warns that this will take up a lot of your energy but if you don't fight it head on, you may not be able to carry on and you could put your search for success in jeopardy. Focus on the end goal and don't let anything distract you or make you doubt your ability to get there. You must muster up all the strength you can and battle for your success.

The Five of Swords in a reversed position suggests that you have recently been experiencing challenge after challenge that has set you back massively in your journey and has you feeling as if you are now in constant battle with yourself and everything around you. You don't know how much more you can take and just want the fighting to be over so that you can move forward with your life. You need a change to come into your life and are ready to welcome anything that comes your way. The reversed Five of Swords tells you that change will soon come and, with it, bring some better opportunities to your door, but in order for this to happen, you must break down the walls that you have recently built for yourself and open your heart and mind to new things.
