5 Must Have Crystals For Your Practice

Must Have Crystals

Crystals are incredible things, aren’t they? They not only look amazing but they hold amazing vibrational qualities within them. They have the ability to heal, protect and awaken - amongst other things - especially when in close proximity to the human body or placed around the home. You can wear them as jewellery, carry them in your bag or pocket, place them in well-populated areas of your home or even place them on your body for extra healing time. What’s not to like?!

However, the world of crystals is so vast and diverse that it can get a little overwhelming at times. There’s are so many types of crystals to choose from and then there are also categories within those types of crystals, not to mention their different properties! Headache much?!

As crazy as it all sounds, don’t let that affect your decision to keep crystals because they really are worth having around! Plus, I’m about to make that headache subside a little bit by giving you a list of the 5 most important crystals out there.

1. Amethyst

Amethyst is often referred to as an All Purpose Stone and is probably the most powerful and recognisable stone there is with its colour stretching from a light lavender to a vibrant purple. Amethyst was the first stone of my collection and is by far my favourite stone of my collection!

Amethyst is connected to the Third Eye and Crown chakra, which relates to our intuition, spiritual power and our higher consciousness. If you’re looking to develop your psychic abilities, this is the stone for you!

Amethyst is also known as a healing stone, helping not just your physical health but your mental health too. It is known to relieve stress, insomnia, anxiety and physical ailments. When you’re feeling ill, place Amethyst on your bedside table or under your pillow while you sleep and let it work it’s magic!

Other Amethyst properties include protection, clarification, cleansing, purification and the balancing of energies.

2. Clear Quartz

Clear Quartz is often referred to as the Master Healer. This stone can literally be used for anything and everything - it’s the second all purpose stone. Clear Quartz is exactly as it’s named, a translucent and clear stone almost resembling glass. This stone is another of my favourites because it can be substituted for any other crystal.

Clear Quartz is brilliant because it has the ability to amplify the properties of every crystal it comes into contact with.  This stone works with all chakras, especially the higher chakras that connect to your Higher Self and consciousness.

As I said above, this stone is the master healer and is an essential healing stone - put it together with Amethyst and other healing stones and you’ve got yourself a miracle. Clear Quartz can heal a plethora of issues, including issues relating to your mind, body and spirit. This stone works incredibly well with the New Moon - I like to place it in a bowl of sea salt and light a white candle next to it when I’m feeling overwhelmed during the New Moon phase.

Other Clear Quartz properties include energy cleansing, clarification, bringing emotional balance and enhancing spiritual awareness.

3. Rose Quartz

Rose Quartz is often referred to as the  Love Stone. This stone is the perfect stone to use when it comes to matters of the heart - from self love to relationship problems, this stone will have your back. Rose Quartz is very distinctive thanks to its pale pink colouring. It’s a beautiful stone for a beautiful cause.

Rose Quartz is all about the love whether it’s to yourself or to others around you. It’s connected to the Heart Chakra and allows you to feel love and compassion wherever you are. It can open up your heart allowing you to feel harmony, forgiveness and acceptance. It’s also great at healing emotional pain, especially when related to the heart. If you’re in need of a little self-love, carry a Rose Quartz stone around with you or keep it in a place that you visit a lot.

Rose Quartz carries calming and soothing qualities also and is perfect for easing feelings of anxiety and stress. Light a pink candle and place the Rose Quartz in your hand holding it up to your heart. Close your eyes and envision the Rose Quartz pulling all of the stress out of your body. Be sure to cleanse the crystal afterwards.

Other Rose Quartz properties include comfort, harmonising and peaceful energies, emotional healing and emitting positive vibrations.

4. Citrine

Citrine is also known as the  Merchants Stone and is the perfect stone for inviting prosperity and abundance into your life. This golden-yellow Stone is often composted to the Sun, both in colour and energy.

Citrine is all all about abundance and is thought to remove financial worries and blockages and present new opportunities to its keeper. Grab an object related to your finances - purse, chequebook, bank statement - and light a green candle next to it. Then place a citrine stone onto that object and leave overnight. Place the citrine stone in your purse the next morning and keep it in there for a better financial situation.

The Citrine stone is associated with the Solar Plexus Chakra and is brilliant when you need some extra self-confidence or want to trust your gut instincts.

It’s also a great aura cleansing stone as it’s thought to remove negative energies and replace them with positive thoughts. Wear as a piece of jewellery or keep them in your pocket to cleanse your aura.

Other Citrine properties include purifying, healing, promotes success and happiness and stimulates feelings of pleasure.

5.  Moonstone

Moonstone is often referred to as the  Mystical Stone. It is connected to the moon and it’s phases, channelling the lunar energies and enhancing its effects on us. Moonstone is typically colourless but can appear to be grey, brown, blue and pink. The Moonstone looks as mysterious as the moon itself.

Moonstone is connected to the Sacral, Third Eye and Crown Chakra because of its links to fertility and intuition. This stone is the embodiment of feminine power and is linked to our reproductive organs and female menstrual cycles, like the moon. Lay the stone on top of your Sacral chakra to heal and promote fertility.

This stone carries so much depth and connects to our intuition and spiritual powers, making it the perfect stone for Third Eye and Crown chakra healing. Moonstone is a great stone for improving your psychic abilities and is also said to encourage awareness through your dreams. Place on your bedside table or under your pillow to receive messages in your dreams.

Other Moonstone properties include calming, healing, emotional balance, cleansing, purification and easing menstrual pain.
