The Full Moon + The Zodiac Signs

Full Moon In The Zodiac

The moon is such a vital part of the night sky, a bright contrast against the sea of black. We often forget that the moon’s glow is not her own. Every night, she borrows her shine from the sun, with her surface reflecting the sun’s light and illuminating the dark sky.

This illuminated body is a familiar sight, but what many of us don’t realise is that we experience the power of the moon in various ways, and tapping into her power can create changes in our lives.

Science has proven that the moon affects our oceans, wildlife, and our moods. With this in mind, it’s no wonder the moon has been a point of worship within many cultures for thousands of years.

The moon touches our inner selves. It reminds us that, like the phases of the moon, darkness always gives way to light, emptiness gives way to fullness, and rebirth is just around the corner.

By learning of the moon and connecting with each phase’s energy, we tune into mind, body, and soul, bringing awareness to the shifts and cycles taking place in our lives.

Full Moon Themes

A full moon marks the midway point of a lunar cycle where the moon has reached its fullest potential and is bright and illuminating in the sky. During the full moon, the Earth sits between the sun and the moon, allowing us to see the sun’s reflection hitting the moon’s surface.

The full moon occurs once every month. When there is a rare occurrence of over one full moon a month, we refer to it as a blue moon.

The full moon acts as a time of harvest encouraging us to celebrate our achievements and reap what we have sown.

This phase is the perfect time to express gratitude and tune into your intuition.

A full moon heightens everything, from our intuition to our moods. Take advantage by tuning into your emotions and getting to the root of the issues that sabotage you.

At the time of a full moon, it will present you with the clarity to reflect on your journey so far through the cycle and receive higher guidance to lead you forward. This guide will help you recognise what has been holding you back, allowing you to grow from it and release it.

The moon affects our emotions, with this phase increasing the need to dig a little deeper into them to understand how they affect us and our intentions.

Tuning in is the key to a fruitful, full moon. Make sure you acknowledge your emotions and anything that is triggering you during this time and that, instead of pushing it down, you work with it.

The Full Moon In Aries

Full Moon In Aries

When the moon is full in the hardworking and superior Aries, it calls us to stand up on our own two feet and take the lead. To take control of the steering wheel and follow our path. A full moon in Aries asks us to focus our attention on our purpose and start thinking about what we need to cut out of our lives when the moon wanes so we can move forward into that purpose.

An Aries full moon represents leadership, but this sense of authority that we experience comes with its disadvantages too. Aries energy has its eyes on the prize, and because of this, we may get frustrated when things don’t quite go according to plan. Don’t feed into anger and triggers. What you feel during any full moon will be intense, and can lead to conflict, destruction, and things you may later regret.

The most important thing you can focus on during this time is your goals and purpose and aligning yourself with them. What can you release to align with your purpose? Reflect on this question and attempt to let it go when the moon wanes.

The Full Moon In Taurus

Full Moon In Taurus

A full moon in mindful and comfort-seeking Taurus allows us the opportunity to see past stress and worries to celebrate the abundance that we already hold. It’s common to slip into a lack mindset because everyone wants more than what they already have, making it easy to forget the great things that we have.

Taurus energy brings this back home, reminding us to come back to the present and realise what is already in front of us. During a Taurus full moon, express gratitude for the great things that are present in your life.

A great way to keep yourself grounded during any Taurus full moon is to surround yourself with the things that bring you comfort and a sense of stability. Stability is an important theme for this phase, but now is not the time to concern yourself with it, it’s a time to celebrate it. Ground your energy by remembering to take a few mindful moments and reminding yourself of the things you love.

The Full Moon In Gemini

Full Moon In Gemini

A full moon in Gemini encourages us to embrace our curious side by asking questions and learning as much as we can. It will motivate us to tune in to the knowledge that we receive and encourages us to keep an open heart and mind to new perspectives.

When the moon is full in this air sign, it heightens our inspiration and ability to think freely. Attempt to reflect on what is inspiring you and then express it.

As an air sign, communication is a big theme during any Gemini transit, but during a full moon, self-expression should be your focus. The full moon is the first stage of the waning phase, which asks us to release what is holding us back. Now is the perfect time to express your thoughts and concerns and release them.

The Full Moon In Cancer

Full Moon In Cancer

A full moon in Cancer is intense, because the moon rules this water sign, meaning that emotions are at an all-time high. During a full moon, we feel everything at a more intense rate, but during a Cancer full moon, those feelings will be on full blast.

A Cancer moon evokes vulnerability and sensitivity within us, and this is something we must acknowledge and expand on. No more hiding behind a mask, this moon is ripping down all illusions and leaving us naked and open to the world. Putting a barrier between our inner and outer self may appeal to us, but it’ll do more damage than good. Show yourself to the world by letting the real you shine through.

This moon will bring us closer to our intuition. Draw on this internal wisdom when things get tough. Conflict can be high during this time, so we must tap into compassion and intuition when this happens, taking a moment to pause and reflect before responding.

The Full Moon In Leo

Full Moon In Leo

A Leo full moon is a time where we realise our authentic power. A time to acknowledge our truth, recognise our potential, and use it to our advantage. Shying away from this truth will not work during this zodiac/moon collaboration because fearless Leo doesn’t run from anyone. When your authenticity shows its face, own it!

A Leo moon is the perfect time to release your internal fears, reflecting on what holds you back from your potential and letting them go. Don’t fear stepping out of the shadows and into the light. Acknowledge your fears. Acknowledge the effect they have over you and instead of giving in to that power, use it to propel yourself forward. Feel the fear and do it anyway!

Ruled by the Sun, Leo is pure fire energy - passion, drive, action, and manifestation.

A Leo full moon will allow you to manifest your authenticity, your essence, into the world.

The Full Moon In Virgo

Full Moon In Virgo

Virgo is a sign of logic, detail, and clarity, and when the full moon enters this sign, it asks us to reflect on our current situation and make sense of it. To clear away the cobwebs and to gain clarity on our purpose so we can move forward. During a full moon in Virgo, everything comes into focus, and we acknowledge what is and isn’t working for us.

A Virgo full moon asks us to reflect on the intuitive messages we receive. To find the clarity that will help us put them into practice when the occasion calls for it.

Virgo energy motivates us to get our lives in order. To prioritise what’s relevant and to throw out what isn’t. An emotional declutter is necessary during a Virgo full moon, for the sake of moving forward in the next cycle. Sort through your internal baggage and acknowledge what needs to go when the moon wanes.

The Full Moon In Libra

Full Moon In Libra

The full moon in Libra brings our attention to these imbalanced areas. It asks us to acknowledge these areas and understand the cause. This way, we can work to release them when the moon wanes.

Venus rules Libra and brings our attention to how we connect with others. This phase will ask us to balance our emotions and the emotions of those around us. Be fair in your relationships and focus only on the truth. Nothing else should matter.

The Full Moon In Scorpio

Full Moon In Scorpio

When the moon is full in Scorpio, it asks us to tune in to our desires and connect with our passion. The intensity of our desires will increase until we will do anything to have it. Motivated by desire, nothing can stand in our way.

Whenever the full moon is in Scorpio, it calls us to transform. Our emotions are so intense during this time that we have no choice but to delve deeper into them. Pay attention to any discomfort or feelings of dissatisfaction within your life, because this is where you must level up, so allow that discomfort to drive you to make changes.

A full moon is the beginning process of change through release, and during a Scorpio full moon, we must reflect on what holds us back from authenticity and truth. Finding truth is the first step to transformation, and this moon will help you let go of anything that doesn’t align with your authentic self.

The Full Moon In Sagittarius

Full Moon In Sagittarius

A full moon in Sagittarius places our focus on truth and the search for something bigger than ourselves. Reflect on your values and release any illusions that don’t align with them.

A full moon in this fire sign likes to explore boundaries. It will give us the confidence to face up to our truths and the courage to express this authenticity.

This fire sign loves to expand. Your internal boundaries and limits are something you are being asked to reflect on during this full moon, so you can work on releasing them when the moon wanes.

The Full Moon In Capricorn

Full Moon In Capricorn

A Capricorn full moon invokes a sense of confidence in us and makes us determined to live towards our purpose. Our awareness will shift to where we spend our time and energy and how we can put them to better use. Pay attention to feelings of dissatisfaction within your tasks during this moon phase.

Capricorn relates to our working lives, and when the full moon travels through this zodiac, it can create a power struggle. Be careful of getting too big for your boots and take mindful moments throughout your day to ground your energy and focus your mind.

The Full Moon In Aquarius

Full Moon In Aquarius

A full moon in Aquarius calls attention to our authentic selves and how we stand up for our inner truths. Any Aquarius transit comes straight from the soul, and a full moon here is no different, asking us to tune into our soul and to channel its voice through us.

This sign always has a logical understanding of the way it feels. This moon will allow you to gain new perspectives on your emotions. With this knowledge, you will understand how your emotions affect your senses.

Air signs support connections that align with our souls. A full moon in Aquarius is the perfect time to reconnect with and celebrate the loved ones in your life and is also a great time to search for like-minded souls on your wavelength.

The Full Moon In Pisces

Full Moon In Pisces

When the moon is full in intuitive Pisces, it asks us to check in with our emotions. A full moon will intensify everything, so pay close attention to what the moon heightens for you during this time. Acknowledge them and try to understand why they are having such an effect on you.

It’s easy to allow your emotions to drown you during this phase, but Pisces asks that you use its energy to tune into them and feel it out. Acknowledge them as they come through and allow yourself to be compassionate when dealing with them.

A full moon is the beginning process of release. This water sign opens the door for this release, breaking down illusions and welcoming a sense of clarity. Take notice of what’s falling away and release it so you can fall back into alignment.

The Waxing Moon + The Zodiac Signs

Waxing Moon In The Signs

Waxing Moon Themes

A waxing moon marks the first half of a lunar cycle, taking place between the new moon and the full moon as the moon makes its journey around the Earth, moving further away from the Sun. The side facing our planet illuminates more with each day.

We often know this waxing period as an increasing moon as the moon looks to grow each night until it reaches its full potential as the full moon. As the moon builds towards fullness, it invites us to increase with it.

The waxing moon acts as a call to action, encouraging us to work towards our new moon intentions.

This phase is the perfect time to dedicate to your goals and take action.

A waxing moon is a time of personal growth, where we must do everything in our power to progress and expand on your goals.

During the new moon, you may have set intentions to clarify what you want to manifest during this cycle, and a waxing moon signifies a great time to build on these intentions as its energy keeps us focused on our goals.

The moon affects our emotions, with this phase increasing the need to take action, meaning that you may feel overwhelmed by your duties.

Priority setting is the key to a prosperous waxing moon. Make sure you’re clear about what you’re manifesting and the steps needed to make that happen.

Every waxing moon is different, occupying a new zodiac sign every month, allowing us the opportunity to work on various areas in our lives, as it lights up different themes.

The Waxing Moon In Aries

Waxing Moon In Aries

When the moon waxes in the sign of Aries, it asks us to nurture our new moon intentions with as much passion as you can spare. Aries can be a self-focused sign, and it's this energy we are being asked to embody during this phase. Put as much focus and passion into your goals as you can.

An Aries waxing moon can make us more impulsive in our actions. This can help us by forcing us to take fast action instead of overthinking, but this can work against us in the same way. Acting on something without giving it much consideration can cause mistakes or poor decisions.

Always try to find the balance between impulsivity and caution during an Aries waxing moon.

The Waxing Moon In Taurus

Waxing Moon In Taurus

When the waxing moon enters Taurus, we switch our focus to our sense of stability, creating a need to work towards something tangible and safe. Taurus is a sign concerned with comfort and deep roots. Look at your new moon intentions and ask yourself what you can do to make them happen and then build your foundations.

Because of the stable and grounded influences of Taurus, you may progress slower than usual during a waxing moon in this sign. When we allow ourselves to slow down, we gain the opportunity to see things with clarity and put more energy behind essential tasks.

Taurus’ slow-moving energy can leave us feeling unmotivated, and during a Taurus waxing moon, we become more prone to procrastination. Give yourself the chance to take things slower, but acknowledge moments of procrastination and laziness and snap out of it.

The Waxing Moon In Gemini

Waxing Moon In Gemini

When the moon waxes in air sign Gemini, our attention shifts to the changes that are taking place in our lives and the way we adapt to them. Gemini’s motto is ‘go with the flow’, and it’s this motto we must follow during this moon phase. Reflect on how you work with challenges and obstacles that threaten to change your goals. Do you work with them as they appear? Or, do you let them get the best of you?

Because of the ever-changing energy of this Gemini moon, you may find that the pace has picked up from the Taurus transit. Gemini is productive, wanting to get as many things done as possible. Use this productive rush to your advantage. A waxing moon is a time to get things done, and Gemini energy will help you may do just that.

Make sure not to overdo it. This level of productivity can cause you to burn the candle on both ends as you feel rushed to cross off everything on your to-do list. Remember to give yourself permission to slow down and adapt to the energy flow you’re experiencing.

The Waxing Moon In Cancer

Waxing Moon In Cancer

A waxing moon in sensitive Cancer shifts our attention to our triggers, acknowledging our emotions and how they lead us toward action.

Cancer energy is emotional, ruled by the moon, so any phase in Cancer will hit us hard. Sit back and observe. Don’t distract yourself from how you feel. Allow yourself to step back and experience it.

Our emotions are a gateway to our inner selves and acknowledging them can work wonders for our intuition, making us more receptive to intuitive messages.

The intuition that we experience can send us into emotional overload, so it’s necessary to avoid pushing them away without acknowledging them first.

Bottling our emotions up will make us more likely to act out. Nurture these sensations by reflecting on them. Come home to yourself and let your intuition guide you to the best solution.

The Waxing Moon In Leo

Waxing Moon In Leo

When the moon waxes in fearless Leo, it brings awareness to our fears and the actions that we must take to emerge from stagnation.

Leo energy is brave and courageous, and during a Leo moon, we are more likely to be bolder in our decisions and actions.

Reflect on your desires and the limitations that are holding you back from chasing them. Acknowledge the fear that has bound you and take the necessary steps to jump straight into that fear, releasing you from its grasp.

Leo energy can be self-focused, encouraging you to fight your way into the spotlight, desiring the attention and appreciation your talents deserve. You are now being asked to step forward, and you shouldn’t fear following through with this.

The Waxing Moon In Virgo

Waxing Moon In Virgo

A waxing moon in this sign is the perfect time to switch our mindsets and get the real work done.

Virgo represents our habits and routines, and when the moon waxes here, we feel the urge to reflect on these daily practices and the patterns that develop from them, acknowledging whether they are benefiting us. What practices do you need to change?

This sign can also bring out our inner perfectionist, focusing our attention on the small stuff rather than the bigger picture.

The saying, ‘the devil is in the details’ comes to mind with this perfectionism, making us more likely to spot mistakes and find things that we may have otherwise overlooked.

In moderation, a sense of perfectionism can benefit us, as long as we have control over it. Perfection is an illusion that you can’t reach. It’s okay to worry over details, but when you’re nitpicking over small things elsewhere in your life, you will cause more conflict than peace.

The Waxing Moon In Libra

Waxing Moon In Libra

When the waxing moon enters balanced Libra, it restores emotional equilibrium, which allows us to see things with clarity and make level-headed decisions.

The harmonious energy that Libra sends our way during the waxing moon eliminates the internal conflict, making it easier to move at our own pace and align with the energy we are experiencing.

While a waxing moon in Libra can be a brilliant time for decision making, it can bring a time of indecision for the same reasons.

The different aspects that we encounter during a Libra moon will allow us to understand the pros and cons of every decision and make it easier to decide which path to follow. If you reach uncertainty on a choice, don’t choose on impulse. Leave the decision until the answer is clearer.

The Waxing Moon In Scorpio

Waxing Moon In Scorpio

Scorpio energy is passionate, and when the moon waxes here, it calls us to dive deep into our desires and start making the changes we want to see in our lives.

Scorpio is a very transformative sign, so if your new moon intentions revolve around personal growth, a waxing moon in Scorpio the perfect time to act on them.

A waxing moon in this water sign heightens our emotions and intuition, which will push us to create a change in our lives and help us realise our life purpose.

We must also keep in mind that, when our emotions strengthen, they threaten to grow out of control. This can lead to an extreme in behaviour, and with emotion and action clashing, it could make us act out of turn.

The Waxing Moon In Sagittarius

Waxing Moon In Sagittarius

A waxing moon in adventurous Sagittarius marks a time of exceeding our boundaries and stepping into unknown territory, ready for new experiences and opportunities.

Sagittarius energy is free and wild, making a waxing moon here the perfect opportunity to free yourself from your rut. When the moon waxes here, it reminds us we have unlimited opportunities in our lives, and we should take hold of each one.

Sagittarius is a fire sign, represented by the archer whose favourite motto is to ‘shoot for the stars’. Now is the time for pure and passionate action and expanding our comfort zones, so don’t let fear hold you back from your dreams.

Be careful of throwing too much of yourself into your goals. Hard work is necessary for achieving your goals but not at the expense of your mental and physical health. Dedicate plenty of time for self-care during this moon transit.

The Waxing Moon In Capricorn

Waxing Moon In Capricorn

When the waxing moon enters Capricorn, it gives us a chance to reflect on our journey and the steps we are taking to achieve our goals, acknowledging what is and isn’t working for us and making changes where necessary.

Capricorn energy is practical and represents staying true to yourself and your goals, and a waxing moon in this sign will motivate us to take real steps towards success.

Capricorn is an earth sign, present and grounded, with feet planted on solid ground and eyes fixated with what’s right in front of them in the present moment. This is your time to focus on your goal and what you must do to manifest it into reality. Think of the steps you need to take and whether they are realistic and achievable. If so, waste no more time.

A Capricorn transit within this phase can be excessive. On a bad day, Capricorn energy can bring out the know-it-all in us. Avoid this approach if you want to grow during this time. Growth comes from experience and learning.

The Waxing Moon In Aquarius

Waxing Moon In Aquarius

When the moon waxes in the trailblazing sign of Aquarius, it calls us to be more independent in our thoughts and more authentic in our actions.

Aquarius energy is free-thinking, trailblazing, so harness this energy when the moon waxes in this sign. Honour your values and beliefs, and work towards what you want in life.

Aquarius likes to keep things flowing and inspires movement and change and change during its transit. Take this opportunity to focus on the bigger picture and stay open to actions that will get you there.

There is one downfall to Aquarius energy. The need to make a change may lead you during this time, but remember to stay present. Aquarius can appear distant and unavailable, so be aware when you develop these qualities and open up.

The Waxing Moon In Pisces

Waxing Moon In Pisces

A waxing moon in intuitive Pisces asks us to expand our natural wisdom and explore our emotional capacities.

Pisces energy is otherworldly, with a heightened connection to the Universe and its knowledge.

When the moon waxes here, it amplifies manifestation. To work with this power, connect to your desires and focus as much energy towards your intentions. Make conscious decisions to help attract them.

During such a sensitive time, be careful not to get tangled up in your emotions. To benefit from a Pisces moon, we must have a sense of clarity which we cannot achieve when we are not in control of how we feel. When you feel as if your emotions are getting carried away, allow yourself the opportunity to step back and acknowledge them.

New Moon In The Signs

The moon is such a vital part of the night sky, a bright contrast against the sea of black.  We often forget that the moon’s glow is not her own. Every night, she borrows her shine from the sun; her surface reflecting the sun’s light and illuminating the dark sky.

This illuminated body is a familiar sight, but what many of us don’t realise is that we feel the power of the moon in various ways, and tapping into her power can make a big difference in our lives.

Science has already proven that the moon affects our oceans, wildlife, and our moods. With this in mind, it’s no wonder the moon has been a point of worship within many cultures for thousands of years.

The moon touches our inner selves. It reminds us that, like the phases of the moon, darkness always gives way to light, emptiness gives way to fullness, and rebirth is just around the corner.

By learning about the moon and connecting with each phase’s energy, we tune into mind, body, and soul, bringing awareness to the shifts and cycles taking place within.

New Moon Themes

A new moon marks the start of a brand new lunar cycle, taking place when the moon finds itself between the Sun and the Earth. The side facing our planet cannot reflect the Sun’s light, leaving it unilluminated, invisible to the naked eye.

Although you cannot see the moon on such a night, we must not underestimate the power of the new moon. It still has a hold over us. The sky seems even darker in the moon’s absent illumination, but within this darkness, there is tranquillity.

The new moon represents a rebirth that is abundant in possibilities. This phase acts like a reset button where our goals renew and we set intentions to help us along the way.

This phase is the perfect time to plant new seeds and start new projects.

A new moon is an important time for spiritual and personal growth and also serves as the first step towards manifestation. Take the time to meditate on your goals and set intentions that will help you achieve them.

Before you set your new moon intentions, spend some time reflecting on what it is you want to manifest into your life. Knowing what you want can be hard, but the trick to manifesting your dreams is to be as clear and specific in your intentions as possible.

As the moon rules our emotions and intuition, and the new moon represents a clean slate, it’s normal to feel a little uncertain of your purpose during this phase. However, as a time of quiet energy, acknowledge and sit with this emotion, rather than distract yourself from it.

Every new moon is different, occupying a new zodiac sign every month, allowing us an opportunity to work on various areas in our life, and lighting up different themes within.

The New Moon In Aries

New Moon In Aries

Aries is a driven sign and makes you want to get things done, right now and fast. An Aries new moon will also have you reflecting on the challenges you are facing, involving your goals, trying to work out a way around them.

Any new moon brings an air of rebirth along for the ride, but an Aries new moon heightens our need for a fresh start more than any other. As the first sign of the zodiac, Aries energy oozes renewal. When the sun and moon meet within this fire sign, it will thrust us into extreme changes as we experience a cosmic reset.

With any fresh start comes a fear of the unknown, but courageous Aries is fearless of change, and will encourage us to embrace the changes coming our way. An Aries new moon is the perfect time to go after what you want in life, no matter how big or scary that action is. Be brave and bold in your decisions and don’t let your limitations stop you from charging towards your dreams.

However, with all this courageous and bold energy in the air, be careful of impulsive and reckless behaviour during this moon phase. Think things through before acting on them.

The New Moon In Taurus

New Moon In Taurus

Taurus is well known for its love of all things beauty, comfort, and stable. During a Taurus moon, we are asked to slow down and appreciate the small pleasures in life. To do something that makes us feel good in the present moment.

We all strive to feel fulfilled in life and we often search for this fulfilment in everything around us. We look for it in our relationships, our homes, our work, our dreams, but we seldom find it in the beauty of the moment. This is because we all live busy lives and often forget to stop and smell the roses. To slow down and enjoy where we are right now. A Taurus New Moon asks us to indulge in the pleasures of being alive in the present moment and find fulfilment there. To find beauty in nature and to celebrate our bodies as they are.
A Taurus new moon takes our intention setting to a whole new level, by asking us to reflect on where we see our future self and if we’re dedicated to that cause long term.  If you want to manifest your ideal life and wish to see results quickly, this Taurus New Moon is the best time to start building foundations, focusing only on tangible things that hold substance for us, both now and in the future.

However, as the sign of the bull, Taurus energy within a New Moon can make us stubborn and unable to adapt to the shifts and changes taking place around us. You may find yourself clinging to old patterns and habits that no longer serve you out of fear of the changes that letting go of them will bring. Change is necessary, and you must let old, stagnant patterns and mindset crumble away if you want to manifest the life you desire.

The New Moon In Gemini

New Moon In Gemini

When the new moon is occupying chatty and ever-changing Gemini, reflect on your communication skills and the messages we are sending out into the Universe.

Gemini is authentic in its approach to communication and likes to talk with truth as much as possible, so during this phase, it’s essential to reflect on how authentically you express yourself when you communicate with both yourself and others.

Gemini energy has a tendency of being ‘two-faced’ and can withhold the truth a little too well. Reflect on the information and emotions that you’ve been withholding, instead of allowing it to build up within. What have you been holding back from saying? Maybe you’re too scared, or shy, or don’t want to hurt someone’s feelings? Think of a way you can have that conversation in a compassionate and gentle manner.

A new moon in Gemini is also a great time to change your mindset, inviting clarity into your life and making space for fresh, innovative thoughts that will expand your experience during the lunar cycle ahead.

Acknowledge your current mindset and reflect on it, understand your triggers, limitations, fears, and patterns so you can make the changes necessary to move forward.

By doing this, you will open yourself up to new possibilities and let go of stagnation.

The New Moon In Cancer

New Moon In Cancer

Represented by the crab, who carries their home on their back, a Cancer new moon takes on a whole other meaning for us, which is why it’s necessary to acknowledge your triggers during this time.

The pressure of your responsibilities may appear too hot to handle at the moment, so it’s crucial to work through those issues to create healthier boundaries for a better balance in your life.  A Cancer moon is all about recognising what we need to feel so we can better understand the areas in our lives that have fallen out of alignment.

A new moon in Cancer may have us caught up in our emotions and overthinking a little more than necessary, but it’s important to observe where your mind strays when this happens. Cancer is an intuitive sign, ruled by the moon, and these wanderings could be intuitive messages being sent your way to guide you. Reflect on everything that comes your way.

However, as an emotional sign with an emphasis on family dynamics, a new moon in Cancer holds the threat of backlash by causing emotional outbursts between loved ones. If this happens, remember that emotion and love are a leading cause of disagreements. Be compassionate in your approach to such challenges. Lean into love and give into triggers.

The New Moon In Leo

New Moon In Leo

Leo is a bold sign, ruled by the powerful lion, and is famous for being fearless in achievement. This is the energy we are being asked to channel right now. This is a time to move away from fear and step into love.

Our fears are nothing more than illusions created by the ego to protect us from getting hurt. But, our fears also hold us back, leaving us stagnant and anxious about change.  Leo energy invites us to step up to our anxieties, stare them in the face, and then move past them. To be bold and brave and to take what we want without a second thought. A Leo new moon asks us to acknowledge our fears and reflect on them. What is holding you back, and why? With a better idea of why this fear is leading you, you’ll have a better chance of conquering it.

Intention setting during a Leo new moon should focus on your fears when relating to self-expression. What is stopping you from stepping into your spotlight? Coming out into the world as your authentic self is a terrifying thought. It brings a sense of vulnerability and exposure because it leaves us open to criticism and rejection. But by not projecting our authentic selves into the world, we stop ourselves from living our best lives. We have to move past the fear of rejection and step into our true selves.

However, with all this passionate and bold energy in the air, be careful of getting too carried away with your self-expression. Leo energy can be dramatic and self-centred, and those qualities will not serve you well during this phase. Remember to dial it back a few notches when you feel yourself going over the top. Take a few breaths and ground yourself.

The New Moon In Virgo

New Moon In Virgo

Ruled by the earth maiden, often referred to as the virgin, the Virgo sign represents purity in all things. A Virgo new moon asks us to restore clarity within our emotional selves so we can move forward with ease and certainty.

The ability to access our intuition is essential on any journey. It is our guiding light, illuminating the path to our highest good. Without a sense of clarity, we cannot access this intuition correctly. We must rise above the noise in our minds, tuning it out so that only one voice comes through. That inner voice abundant in divine wisdom. To rise above this noise, we must change our mindsets.  Changing the mindset is difficult, but it comes with time and habit. Habit is the essence of Virgo energy.

A Virgo new moon encourages us to form new habits and routines that will not only aid us in achieving our goals but will also change our mindset for the better.

Reflect on your current routines and habits and acknowledge what is and isn’t working for you.

What habits can you set now that will help you in the long run?

However, with this need for refinement and order, a Virgo moon can get a little too invested in perfection, and it can seem as if nothing you do is good enough. You must not let this mindset get the better of you.

Perfection is nothing more than an illusion, and as long as you’re doing the best you can, don’t worry about it! When you feel as if Virgo energy is getting on top of you, take time out and indulge in self-care. As an earth sign, it’s crucial to spend time in nature, recharging your energy and reminding yourself in the beauty of simplicity.

The New Moon In Libra

New Moon In Libra

Represented by the scales of justice, Libra energy aims to create harmony and love amongst all, encouraging us to compromise and build bridges in our relationships with others. This new moon will ask us to reflect on relationships that have fallen out of alignment with our journey and why and then fix it if we can. If not, let it go.

The key to any form of relationship is compromise.

Without compromise, relationships will become off balance with the scale always tipping to one end rather than staying level where it belongs. In any connection, the act of giving and receiving should be equal. Reflect on relationships where this may be the case and ask yourself how you can resolve the imbalance. It may not be easy, but both new moon and Libra energy are there to help you along the way.

A new moon in Libra asks us to set intentions based on creating balance within our relationships. To step into the other person’s shoes and see things from their perspective. Be fair in your judgement and attempt to appreciate where the other person is coming from.

However, with Libra being a sign of peace and harmony, be careful that you are not giving in too much to other people’s demands for the sake of keeping the peace. Libra is an air sign, concerned with authenticity, so make sure you don’t dim your light so that others can shine brighter.  There are ways of keeping the peace while also staying true to yourself and your values.

The New Moon In Scorpio

New Moon In Scorpio

As a mysterious sign, any Scorpio moon promises a period of transformation, asking you to delve deep within your emotional self, reflecting on how your shadow aspects guide you and understand what you must do to work with those aspects to create a change within yourself.

A Scorpio new moon increases our ability to perceive different energies, allowing us to see the truth behind the illusion.

Pay close attention to how you feel around certain people because the demand to protect your energy will be higher, as we seek purity, passion and authenticity in our connections.

A Scorpio new moon is all about delving deeper into everything. You may find your curiosity peaked as you are no longer satisfied with vague and shallow answers. You may experience a need to explore new depths within life and death, as you strive to learn the secrets of the Universe. Make it your intention to learn more about what interests you. Dedicate yourself to digging deep and understanding what hides beneath the surface.

However, as the scorpion of the zodiac, Scorpio energy is infamous for having a sting in its tail. With emotions running wild and energy overload taking place, be aware of triggers and how you react to them. Don’t act out of emotion. Take a deep breath and count to ten before taking any other action.

The New Moon In Sagittarius

New Moon In Sagittarius

As the zodiac of freedom, any Sagittarius moon will bring an air of adventure along for the ride. You may become bored as your soul longs to become free to explore new territory and see new sights.

Sagittarius energy is always searching for more because it knows that it has the world at its fingertips and likes to use that knowledge as much as possible.

Wisdom comes with experience, and experience comes when we allow ourselves to step out of our comfort zones and open our hearts to new possibilities. When we let go of our fears, we answer our callings. To free our soul and follow its path, we must first be open to wherever it may lead us. There is no place for limitations during a Sagittarius transit. Limits keep us stuck, and that is not the Sagittarius way. A Sagittarius new moon rescues us from stagnation and into a new world without fear, hesitation, or barriers. Just adventure, knowledge, and freedom.

A Sagittarius new moon is also an excellent time to explore the things we are passionate about. As the archer of the zodiac, Sagittarius urges us to shoot for the stars without fear. What is your dream? What are you doing to work towards it?

However, as a free-spirited sign, Sagittarius energy can be a little scattered. You may feel inspired to do all the things, wanting to explore all possibilities without a second thought. Sagittarius energy tends to burn the candle on both ends. When setting intentions during this phase, make sure you’re being honest with yourself about how much you can do. Priorities tasks and break them down so they will be easier to manage.

The New Moon In Capricorn

New Moon In Capricorn

Represented by the mountain goat, Capricorn energy is grounded and realistic, and with feet planted on solid ground, it will encourage us to set realistic intentions that fit in with our life purpose.

To dream up our goals and the life we want to create for ourselves is a positive practice, as is holding that vision. However, if that’s all we’re doing, we’re not letting ourselves achieve it. Spending a lot of time thinking about what you want and too little time taking action will get you nowhere. There must be a balance. Capricorn energy will encourage us to get our heads out of the clouds and into the real world where we can make a difference.

A Capricorn new moon is perfect for re-evaluating your long-term goals and setting realistic intentions that will help you work towards them in the best way for you. You may feel the urge to take responsibility for your life as Capricorn prompts you to reclaim your power and step into authority, bringing you one step closer to growth and manifestation. Take the wheel and gain control over your life and the path it is leading you down. Stay strong and keep climbing! However, as an ambitious sign, Capricorn energy has a tendency to get a little too carried away with responsibilities and goal-chasing, with all work and no play making a good motto for Capricorn.

When intention setting, make sure you’re not packing too much on your plate. It’s fine to go after your dreams, but don’t burn out in the process.

The New Moon In Aquarius

New Moon In Aquarius

As an air sign, Aquarius energy is free-flowing, and when this sign appears in our sky, it’s a sign to keep going. To keep our focus on our goals and to keep putting all our energy into achieving them.

Don’t bend to distractions and let nothing impede reaching your purpose. This is your time to do what makes you shine, investing your time into the things that light you up. Focusing on yourself is not selfish, it’s necessary. Too often we go through life feeling unfulfilled because they put too much emphasis on other people’s needs rather than their own. Aquarius energy strives to break us away from that cycle!

An Aquarius new moon is a perfect time for setting goals and intentions that revolve around you, and just you. Your needs, your goals, and your desires should all be the front focus in your mind during this time as you create a clear path on how you will achieve them. Stand up for what you want. This is your time to shine your own light.

However, Aquarius energy has a tendency to become uncompromising in its approach to other people’s emotions.

Life is a game of balance, and although an Aquarius moon is about what you need, you must be mindful of other people’s feelings. You can focus on yourself while still keeping a compassionate and caring approach to life. Find the balance!

The New Moon In Pisces

New Moon In Pisces

As an imaginative water sign, Pisces energy is intuitive, focused on Universal flow and spiritual enlightenment, so during a Pisces New Moon, you may delve deeper into the subconscious mind trying to make sense of the signs, synchronicities, and the intuitive messages you have been receiving of late.

We all have access to our intuition. It is our birthright.  But tuning in and listening to your internal guiding light is easier said than done most of the time. Pisces energy strives to help us acknowledge and connect with it, rising above all other noise and honing in on internal knowledge instead. It also teaches us to have faith when our intuition is guiding us. To not allow our fear stop us from answering that intuitive call, and instead, putting all trust in ourselves and the pull of the Universe as we take a step closer to transformation.

A Pisces New Moon is the perfect opportunity to focus on internal and spiritual goals, setting intentions that will allow the level of growth and transformation that you wish to see in yourself.

Concentrate on deep and personal inner work, as you focus on internal changes that will help you align with the Universe and reach a more awakened state in your life.

Meditation and dream interpretation are big themes during a Pisces New Moon as you strive to understand the intuitive energy that you are absorbing, so pay attention to the things that come through for you during this time.

Because of the deep emotional themes of this water sign, Pisces energy can often make us feel as if we’re drowning in its depths with no life-raft in sight. Make sure you allow yourself to slow down and tune in, to avoid straining yourself and tumbling into emotional overload.

The 5 Biggest Life Lessons I’ve Learned Through Tarot

Tarot Life Lessons

About eight years ago, I took the big (and life changing) plunge of purchasing my first ever tarot deck, evidently putting me on this journey of self-discovery and purposeful living that I find myself on right now.

At this time, my knowledge of these transcending cards was pretty basic, and by basic I mean non-existent. I say this because, although I’d read a few books and done some research online before making that purchase, I came to understand that you never really know the true meaning of tarot until you have your own deck in your hands.

When you’re new to tarot, you (very early on) find out that knowledge comes with experience and plenty of practice.

I had absolutely no way of knowing at that very moment how much my life was going to change just from gaining a simple set of cards with some rather beautiful pictures on them.

I didn’t know what I’d let myself in for, but I wouldn’t change that for the world.

Over the years (and a few decks later), I have learnt so much from my trusted cards - both about tarot and about myself and the circumstances I often find myself in. I can honestly say that I am not the person I was before I picked up that first deck, and I’m rather glad for that.

When I picked up that first deck, I was in a pretty bad place in my life. I was holding onto a lot of trauma, negativity, and anger, and I was starting to lose myself and my purpose. Through putting my effort and energy into working with my inner self (mostly through the cards themselves), I created time and space within to allow myself to heal and to transform. To rise from my ashes and shine from the inside out. All through some simple lessons taught from the cards themselves.

1. Your Intuition Is Your Most Powerful Tool

Your intuition is that inner knowing that stems beyond your conscious awareness. It’s almost like an automatic understanding that often motivates us to react, even when we have no conscious reason or perception to do so. It’s, put simply, a feeling within that cannot be explained but has our back one hundred percent of the way.

Some call it an inner voice, some call it a gut instinct, but whatever you like to call it, it can hold a lot of power in your life, if you let it. Tapping into our intuition and being able to make conscious decisions and take intuitive actions is a high-vibrational move in life. Our intuition is always working towards our highest good and in following the path it’s laying out for us, we allow ourselves to live a better quality and happier life.

And, tarot is a brilliant tool to connect and tune into that intuitive power.

When we read tarot, it activates our intuition through prompting emotions within. When we pull a card and hone in on its energy, it sparks something inside us. Something bigger than what we are consciously aware of. That something is your intuition. Have you ever pulled a card and, without knowing much about it’s textbook meaning, have been able to interpret it perfectly around your question? That is your intuition awakening.

When you master the art of reading tarot intuitively, you can open yourself up to so much hidden knowledge that will change your perception of life as you know it. You allow yourself to see through limiting beliefs caused by modern day illusions and break the barrier between fear and love.

The trick to doing this is to simply allow your intuition to guide you to what the cards are trying to tell you through simply tuning into the cards energy and imagery, clearing your mind to give your intuition a platform to speak and, most importantly, staying patient. Don’t force it, just let it happen when it’s ready.

2. Learning Is A Never Ending  Journey

The thing I love the most about the cards, and I’m sure other readers would agree, is that you never stop learning from them. Just when you think you know all there is to know, new insight and knowledge will come out of nowhere and (quite literally sometimes) slap you across the face.

To put it simply, tarot never gets old because there is always something new to learn, whether that’s in areas of your life, intuitive insights, or even your practice itself, you are never done learning with it. And that’s pretty similar to everyday life. We never stop learning new things, even when we don’t even realise it. We are constantly learning new things, whether that be intentionally or non-intentionally.

One of my biggest lessons in tarot is that you can know a lot about a particular subject or situation, but more often than not, you’ve barely skimmed the surface.

Because, real life has absolutely nothing to do with being smart or being able to drink in as much information as possible. It’s about our creative natures and what we do with it.

Our imagination. Our perception. Our intuition. Our emotions. These things are constantly evolving, and as long as those creative aspects within us are adapting and changing, so will our inner self and the way we perceive our lives and everything involved in it.

There are always new techniques of practice, new interpretations of the card meanings, and new decks that are constantly and completely changing the game within the tarot community, just like there are always new ways of living, new perceptions and takes on our present situations, and new products and advanced technologies that are completely changing the world within our lives.

Life slows down for nobody, and nothing ever stays the same. And so, we are on a constant journey of learning that cannot be avoided, and I’m okay with that.

3. Confidence Is Key

Everyone has their own battles with self-confidence, and this can stem in both confidence in ourselves in general and confidence in our abilities to do even the simplest of things.

Personally, I’ve always suffered substantially with my confidence as well as my self-esteem and it’s been a rut I’ve found incredibly difficult to get myself out of. However, I found that the more comfortable and confident I became with my tarot practice, the more comfortable and confident I became within myself.

I’ve learned that confidence is not something that can be forced. It takes time, energy and practice, just like tarot.

Reading tarot is all about your intuition and going with your gut rather than logic, and in doing this you must have confidence to do so. To believe in yourself and your ability and, also, to believe in your intuition and the ways in which it guides you. This kind of self-belief is not just the key to becoming a good tarot reader. It’s the key to living a happy and successful life.

The only way to move forward on your journey is to take that big leap of faith that motivates you to step out of your comfort zone and step into your own spotlight.

Without tarot, I don’t think I would have ever been able to start up my own business and put myself out there the way I’ve been able to up until now, even though it’s always been my dream. I have always been too scared. And I’m still scared, but now I don’t shy away from that fear. That fear is my driving force, because for once, I have the confidence and self-belief to know that I am capable of anything I put my mind to.

Through my regular tarot practice I have come to have faith in myself, my abilities and, most importantly, my intuition. And you can too!

4. You Won’t Always Like What You Hear

Tarot is that one friend you go to for advice and then regret it (for a second or two), because you know they’re going to tell it as it is, even though they know you’re not going to like it. The cards love to hand out a wake up call or two from time to time, even when it’s the last thing you want to hear!

The reason behind this is that it may not be what you want to hear, but it’s clearly something that you need to hear. Tarot is not a tool that’s going to feed into your ego and agree with everything you say or do, it’s vibrating higher than that. Tarot is a tool of enlightenment. It’s going to give you hard truths and highlight toxic patterns and habits within yourself (and others) for the sake of self-improvement and a happier life.

Tarot is a bullshit free zone, and if you’re not prepared for that, then maybe they aren’t for you.

All guidance should be taken on board even if it wasn’t the answer that you wanted. I’ve heard of so many people who simply reshuffle the cards when they don’t get the answer they want. Honestly, don’t do it. It’s not going to work. You’re going to get a similar answer with your next reading, I promise.

I remember during one particular reading, back when I first started practising tarot, the Tower card dropped out of my deck. Normally I pay attention to drop outs but this time I put it straight back in the deck and reshuffled (I obviously was not in the mood for some hard truths on that day). I cut my deck as usual and drew my daily card. Care to take a guess? Yes, The Tower card appeared before my eyes!

When a card appears to you, there is no hiding from its message. Moral of the story -  always trust your first reading!

5. Always Have Faith

Tarot not only strengthens your connection to your intuition and Higher Self. It also has the ability to strengthen your connection to the divine and powerful influences of the Universe. And the Universe always has your back.

Whatever is going on in your life, whatever struggles or lack that you are currently facing, there is always hope. No matter what your current situation, there is always a light at the end of the tunnel. Things may seem like the end of the world right now, but I can promise that they are not. There is power and purpose within each and every one of us and your tarot cards can often be the helping hand that leads you to it. Because, through the cards, your intuition is always guiding you in the direction of your best life. The life that you deserve to live!

Have faith in your readings because they are your divine guidance.

Have faith in the Universe because it is constantly working in your favour.

And, most importantly, have faith in yourself because you are capable of anything you put your mind to.
