Zodiac: Taurus, The Second House
Taurus is the second astrological sign, making it the second house of the zodiac. The period of Taurus' reign falls between April 20th and May 20th, but this date can vary depending on your source. Taurus is symbolised by the headstrong bull and falls under the element of earth, making those born under the sign well-grounded and stable. It is ruled by the planet Venus and as the second house of the zodiac, it represents possession.
Those born under Taurus are headstrong - they know what they want and they know how to get it. They are often smart, practical and ambitious people who are good at decision making and when they've made that decision they will stick to it. Taurus signs are known to be hard-working and reliable - it's in their DNA to follow through on all of their endeavours!
Taurus rules the throat and neck and this shows in those born under its reign. They can be very vocal about their thoughts and emotions - they're not scared to tell it as it is! Although this can sometimes get them into trouble, it also makes them reliable, trustworthy and a go-to for advice. They value honesty and you know that's exactly what you're going to get with them!
On the downside, because of their grounded nature they can be very resistant to change - especially change of the sudden kind. They like to know where they stand in any situation. And when they don't like something, they can be uncompromising and very stubborn and there is simply nothing you can say to make them change their mind.
Taurus are ruled by the planet of love Venus and this shows in their relationships with loved ones. They love with all their heart and there is nothing that they won't do when they're loved ones are in need. This can sometimes lead to them becoming very overprotective of those they care for and due to this, Taurus signs are often wary of strangers, becoming introverted in the presence of people they don't know.
As the second house in astrology, Taurus represents possessions and, more specifically, all things materialistic and physical in your life. This includes your finances, anything from financial gain to financial loss, your security, income and even your self esteem and confidence. This house also represents your values, especially pertaining to materialistic things.
As we are all aware some signs are more compatible together than others. Every sign represents a different type of personality, and sometimes those personalities clash. Taurus are more compatible with other Earth signs Virgo and Capricorn and of course, their own kind, shall we say. They can also be compatible with water signs Cancer and Scorpio, although Scorpio may be a love/hate relationship. They are least compatible with fire signs Aries and Sagittarius, and also the air sign of Aquarius.
