Improve Your Intuition With Daily Tarot
Intuition is such a massive part of tarot reading and can, more often than not, be the difference between a good reading and a bad one. It's so important to be able to tap into your intuition and trust that the card that comes to you is the one you need. This is why I believe that a tarot reader, whether you’re new to it or have been doing it for years, should always be looking and practising to improve their intuition.
My favourite exercise to do this is by pulling a daily tarot card every morning. Just one card with an overall theme and message for that day and all of the guidance that you need to get through the day in one piece. I started doing this as a beginner, to familiarise myself with the cards... and 6 years later, I’m still doing it. Drawing a daily card has now become a vital - and my favourite part - of my morning routine.
I do believe that this is an exercise that every tarot reader should practice if and when they have the time. It could open you up to so many amazing experiences - it has for me - and change your daily life for the better. If you want to know more about the daily tarot card practice, you've come to the right place!
Why You Should Pull A Card A Day
As I said above, pulling a daily tarot card is a great way to practice tuning into your intuition. It’s also the perfect way to apply the cards and it’s messages directly into your everyday life. After you’ve got your card of the day: you must meditate on it, tap into your intuition and let your intuition guide you to the cards message. Let it give you a push in the right direction! Then you should try and apply or practice the card's message throughout your day.
Who Should Practice This?
Everyone! Whether you’re just starting out or have been reading for years, you should practice this! A daily tarot card is about improving your intuition, learning the card meanings is just an added bonus!
For beginners, memorising all 78 card meanings at once is a headache waiting to happen. Honestly, save yourself the stress! Stop spending hours researching and memorising. The message behind the card is more about how you interpret it and what your intuition tells you it means, not what someone else told you it means. Only use ‘text-book meanings’ as pointers, let your intuition guide you to the right message.
For advanced readers, however long you’ve been reading tarot, there is always room for improvement, if ya you know what I mean?! And the way to do that is through your intuition. And practice makes perfect, as they say! Plus, drawing a daily card is fun and will give you a theme to concentrate on throughout your day.
Why Make It A Part Of Your Morning Routine?
If you're going to pull a card to guide you through your day, it would make sense to do it in the morning, wouldn’t it? For me, it’s a brilliant way to start your day, and isn’t time consuming at all. If you’re like me and are rushed off your feet in the mornings, you can still find tome to do this.
By tuning into your intuition first thing in the morning, it really gives you a good start to the day. It not only gives you something to strive for and a guiding message to concentrate on but it will give you a more positive and productive state of mind.
My favourite time to pull my card is when I’m having my first coffee of the day. This is the perfect time for me, because usually I’d just be checking emails or scrolling through social media feeds during this time - usually not the best way to start your productive morning.
The Benefits Of Pulling A Daily Card
Other than improving your intuition during readings - which I’ve talked about enough - this will also improve your intuition through your day making everything much easier, in my opinion. Not only will you have your message to guide you but you may find that your intuition will improve your decision making skills, both in work and personal life. There will be more clarity in your thinking and you may find that you feel more confident in yourself. Everyone’s is different and these are all based on my own experiences and not a majority, but it’s definitely worth a try!
How To Do It!
- Find a quiet space and clear your mind - meditation, breathing exercises or even yoga are brilliant ways to do this.
- Shuffle your deck as you would in any reading and concentrate on your question.
- Ask your question - my question is ‘What do I need to focus on today?’. Other questions could include, ‘what do I need to know today?’, ‘what should I look out for today?’ etc.
- Cut your deck and pull the top card - or whichever method you use during your readings.
- Concentrate only on the card, ask your intuition what it’s trying to tell you and how it could apply to your day.
- Take note of the card and your interpretation and make sure to reflect on it throughout the day.
